Media and Information Literacy (MIL) is about empowering users to know where they are (the influences of the Internet), who they are (in terms of developing their own identities in the face of manipulative effects), and how best to act in relation to online challenges. MIL is crucial for the survival of modern governance and global citizenship in the digital world. It seeks to address the challenges of the new media and information technologies, while offering greater opportunities for new types of citizens’ engagement, centered on freedom and eradicating inequalities which gives rise to issues of safety, security and privacy.
The training will train youths who will serve as peer-motivators and trainers on Media and Information Literacy.
The training will take place in Abuja from the 18th – 19th of July 2017.
